How to Rebuild system (solved)

Post by denijane » Mon May 25, 2020 19:31

Today I did something incredibly stupid probably because I don't feel well. I wanted to delete /user/lib/wine-staging-4.16 but instead I deleted /usr/lib.
So I wanted to ask, is there a way to rebuild the system trough equo? Something like $equo upgdade but instead of upgrading, to reinstall everything I have. I know reinstalling from scratch is the best option but obviously I'd rather not do that. I recovered some lib files from another Sabayon installation and reinstalled whatever I could think of, but I wondered if there is more systematic way to do it.
I saw there is a $equo rescue command but I'm not sure how to use it besides running a check.

Code: Select all

# equo i $(equo q list installed -q) --ask
Good luck !

PS :
"equo rescue restore" works only if you have ran "equo rescue backup" previously
and it save only the database of installed packages

see

Code: Select all

# equo --help

Yay, that helped! At least for now, we'll see what will happen after restart. But so far, everything works. Thank you so much!
