Nothing beats MPD ;)
Probably, maybe, but the question is related to Strawberry vs Clementine.
Some claim Strawberry's sound is better.
Clementine team seems not too responsive lately.
A change of multimedia player favourite might occur soon.

As I understand it it's about specific audiophile HW and settings. A regular user would not notice.
On the other hand Strawberry drops functionality the dev is not interested in. So it's about if it matches your preferences.
Don't think it's of interest for the average user.

On Gentoo it's so far available just in 2 overlays, not in the main tree yet, not even requested.

Clementine is closer to what I need, still, using Windows version too, it's inconsistent in features, behaviour and settings between the OSes. There is also a feature that makes my life hard with it - it suddenly clears the tags in the lists when the original storage is unavailable for some while, this means I must rebuild the lists again and again. It's a request on it made 5-6 years ago, nobody wants to change that.
Look also here, for a sample of "friendly" attitude: https://github.com/clementine-player/Cl ... ssues/5344
I am not involved in that thread, but I profoundly dislike the first reply.
