new MATE won't login after timing out

Post by billwx » Mon Jul 16, 2018 3:12

Hi all,

I am currently using a new Sabayon MATE install, just updated. At boot-up i can login with my password without issue. Afterward, if i am away for a bit and it logs me out, that same password comes up as incorrect on the different login screen. I must login as new user, which returns me to the original, smaller login screen, which will then work for me. Strangeness!

seems to me that the problem are the permissions in the file ~/.Xauthority, or the permissions in the Login Manager (lightdm?).... but

for me, the easier way to solve is disable, im MATE, the feature that "block" the session. In my systems, I even disable the "log screen".

is your the other installation, that have fluxbox?
Is the same computer? If yes,

May be the video driver.... See if the package xf86-video-ati is installed, and if not, install it:

Use RIGO or the commands:

Code: Select all

$ equo s xf86-video-ati IF NOT INSTALLED:
# equo i -av xf86-video-ati
