Is anybody using Firefox with some Sabayon compatible theme?

Post by msdobrescu » Sun May 06, 2018 6:57

Hello,

I use Firefox, under Sabayon 64 bit fully up to date.
Under Sabayon, I have Breeze Dark theme.
Regardless Firefox's stock theme chosen, Default, Dark or Light, I have big issues with readability.
It seems to set default colours in a way that some pages have the same text color as the background, like white over white or blck over dark gray or black.
Also, some extensions seem to have trouble with it, Conex menu, for example, being almost unreadable due to light light grey over white.

Is there some solution to this?

when i choosed a Theme that not visible, ex. because of the colors, simply i changed it again.

Yes, I've changed between Dark, Light and Default. No change.

Do you tried download and install a new Theme, using the Firefox Add-Ons Manager?

CRTL+SHIFT+A, Add-Ons Manager, "Themes" search download and use a new Firefox Theme or Persona.

Then, although I have KDE, I also use some GTK-based apps, so GTK settings might apply to Firefox also. Could this be a reason?

Hi, testing, proves that GTK theme chosen under KDE Settings is the cause of this.
I use there same theme as in KDE, Breeze-Dark.

Hi,

in my experience this happens most likely because the author of that website set the text color (to black, for example), but not the background-color (which is transparent by default, but appears white on most default settings).

You can easier define user styles (with the Stylish Firefox Addon, for example).
There ought to be a userChrome.css, but it's not guaranteed, that it will be respected in the future.

Best is to write the webmaster an email and attaching a screenshot on how it looks like for you.
(This way I convinced Lea Verou to update her website!).
