I've got this problem now too, and I didn't use portage on this fresh install of 4.0.

trouble it seems to have killed the python install totally and so anything wrotten in python doesn't run. this leaves me in the awkward position of not being able to recover the old python using portage, and of course do anything with entropy

I'll probably try installing python manually and hopefully that'll get them back up and running. Will post when I get somewhere

Ok I

installed python 2.5.4 from sources

downloaded from the main website.After this I still couldn't run emerge or spritz, but I could run

Code: Select all

equo install python 
which succeeded and put things back to normal. Spritx and emerge now both working again.

This bug should have been fixed by Entropy 0.52
