Help! Spritz isn't working [Solved]

Postby yt_l9 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 17:00

I was updating/installing updates with spritz manager and I think it must have hung itself or something. I left it running last night and I think my girlfriend shut off the computer before it was done this morning. Now I can't start Spritz anymore, it says that an instance of spritz is already running.
This is my first run with Sabayon from Ubuntu 8.10, I just installed it yesterday so try to explain it to me like I'm a ten year old. Make that a five year old.

I'm running the 64-bit version with KDE.

I might not be the worst thing in the world to have to reinstall it all because I'm kind of a gnome guy anyways.
Thanks in advance.

now

Code: Select all

I feel like this problem occurs enough that when Spritz is started, if entropy.pid is locked, it should prompt you asking if you are absolutely sure no other entropy process is running. If you click yes, it deletes the file for you.

This really isn't the right place for this suggestion, so perhaps I'll put it where it belongs...

it should not ask you that at all.

Entropy itself should check that.

Remember that entropy is still young and these things get better soon. We are very aware of this.
