Home dir destination on install

Postby goodnewz » Fri Nov 28, 2008 11:21

Hi !

I think it would be nice if the installer for Sabayon 4.0 came with an option to allow people to set the /home directory on a different partition than the one the OS will be installed on. This will save people the time after install when you move the home folder and create the symlink.

Just so its all clear here's an example: at the moment you chose to install the system on a partition, lets say sda1. I'd rather have the option in the installer to install the system on sda1 and have the /home dir on sda2.

I hope this can be implemented since its a small thing that can save people time and provide some extra safety by having the home dir in a safer location away from careless hands.

if you want , you can used the option manual partition and set the separated /home partition. the manual partitioning is simple if one is careful when installing.
