I have a compact flash card in my pcmcia slot using an adapter and Sabayon does not "see" it. Several other Linux distros that I tried on my Fujitsy Lifebook did not see it either. However, Ubuntu does recognize and mount it. When I look at what happens during the boot proces, there is a line "pata_pcmcia..... module not found" However, there is a pata_pcmcia.ko in the directory /lib/modules/2.6.25-sabayon-r1/kernel/drivers/ata. Same as for Ubuntu. I assume that is the driver that I need. Why does Sabayon not see it? Could I copy it to another folder perhaps?
This problem was unexpectedly solved after I installed the new kernel, 2.6.26-sabayon. The disk (labeled (CF/ATA) is now correcly identified and can be mounted like all others.
