make sure you have the Zenana Qt aswell, as my patched kde relies on the patched Qt :D

If you mean:
Code: Select all
>>   #2 v00d00 Zenana

Yes, I have

Otherwise, if you mean:
Code: Select all
>>      @@ Package: x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtcurve-0.59.5               branch: 3.5

>>        Slot:                 0
>>        Size:                 0.1MB

>>        Checksum:             524f046dbb33f5803b638d9edb52b2ed

No, I haven't

Mmmhhh... my installation is an updated loop3, not a "pure" 3.5 (I have a f****d 640/256kbps ADSL and I'm still downloading the iso thanks to Telecom IT)... may it be the problem source?

I'm following http://zenana.v00d00.net/standard/zenan ... amd64/3.5/
From zenana in kde-base I have only kdesktop. libkonq is from gentoo-db and kdelibs from sabayonlinux.org - if I install kdelibs I encounter problems... Should I try a libkonq update?

Well all of my kde-base packages include patches that need my qt3 version and my kde-libs, basically you should use them all or nothing. They also were all built together so should be used together, you need the zenana-KDE not a random mix for it to work properly

(BTW If your using my kdesktop try you could try this: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=13940 )

Upon rebooting the 'entropy-notification-applet' is continually complaining.

Repository zenana not available. Cannot validate.

OT: 3.5 is a great release. Wonder how long it takes for word to get out how fast one can install set up and configure a very complete desktop if one goes the entropy route for package management. Great job Team Sabayon. Or one could go the other direction and compile every package on your system.

That cannot validate message makes me want to post this in case there is some error not allowing validation. Contents of '/etc/entropy/repositories.conf':

FWIW. I have used in this install entropy exclusively for package management. I have not changed any USE flags or anything else in '/etc/make.conf'.

As far as I understand the working of the community repos, the 'Cannot validate' message is not an error, but just a warning. It means that the server/repo doesn't provide the md5sum handler to validate the data at the server side.

Kind regards

That's how I understand it too! It still works fine , Now all i have to do is find out how to verify myself

Don't know yet why it ain't working for me except:

1. You obviously know more than I do about how to use a community repo but
2. I'm admittedly learning about Entropy, Equo, Spritz, Sabayon in general and community repos. Kinda fun actually. Except when I make stupid mistakes.

But I never got Zenana packages in entropy/spritz. And here's an interesting bit. I ran 'equo install entropy spritz' and that led to at end of install process:

Code: Select all
* Updating shared mime info database ...
 * Updating desktop mime database ...

Your choice (type a number and press enter):  -5

Which all it did was remove Zenana repository from the file... I'm gonna try again.
