Mysql help?

Post by clockwork » Fri Jun 27, 2008 21:24

ive been trying to set up mysql with amarok for a few days but keep hitting some roadblocks

i have followed the wiki untill i ran into some problems and searched around to figure it out.
but now im getting ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
i found the thread viewtopic.php?f=59&t=13534&p=77363&hilit=mysql#p77363 and used it to reset my password but it still wont work.

ive tried with a password and without, and it seems that everyone esles problem like this has been fixed once they reset the pw but doing that for me doenst fix it

You've verified everything on the link you have there (ie not using "localhost")?

are you using any special characters in your password? Older systems hated it when & and * and # were in passwords for anything other than user accounts because they actually mean something to the file that's parsing your password.
