Booting Sabayon off a extended partition

Im having trouble trying to boot sabayon off a extended partition, currently on the drive in question (sdb) i have:
extended:
/dev/sdb1
/dev/sdb5 ntfs
/dev/sdb6 ext3 (sabayon)

/dev/sdb2 ext3 (ubuntu)
/dev/sdb3 swap
/dev/sdb4 ext3

heres my device map

root (hd3,4)

should be (hd3,5) i think.

Safe mode should also be set to this SAME partition as it only passes different flags to kernel line....

grub gives me a error 2 message: "bad file or directory type"
