I have been watching the droping position of Sabayon at distrowatch and thanks to their ubuntu suckup attitude I see what is contributing to the problem. Quite simply it is the generic user agent string that's used by binary Firefox and it's derivates. I've been using Swiftfox. The default user agent string is:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:184.108.40.206) Gecko/20071201 Firefox/220.127.116.11 (Swiftfox) - Build ID: 0000000000
With the help of info on: http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2004/04/24/c ... agent.html
enter about:config in address bar
right click and select add string
name it general.useragent.override
I'm running Sabayon 3.4f so I gave it a value of:Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:18.104.22.168) Gecko/20071201 SabayonLinux/3.4f Firefox/22.214.171.124 (Swiftfox)
hopefully my visits to distrowatch will now be counted in Sabayon's hit count.
Former Sabayon user (2005 - 2013) and current Arch user.
I liked Sabayon until it switched to Rigo and becoming the gentoo equivalent of Ubuntu. Extreme browsing? Extreme gaming? Extreme work? Extreme development? Like, totally gnarly, dude!
