Cocktail Wallpaper (May 2008) - most screen resolutions

Postby Jayrome » Sat May 03, 2008 12:28

Good day. :D

I remember discussion of Privet wallpapers has shown a strong tendency of Sabayon community to dark styles and music. Being a member of it, I decided to follow Fitzcarraldo's advice and make a darker wallpaper on Sabayon. Pretty much a vampire thing, here it is. :clown:

1600x1200 (667 Kb)
1280x960 (697 Kb)
1024x768 (385 Kb)
800x600 (337 Kb)

1680x1050 (889 Kb)
1440x900 (702 Kb)
1280x800 (482 Kb)

I hereby also include materials for designers:
Web 2.0 elements start to disappear. - Smashing Magazine (January 29th, 2008)
Shiny and glossy design elements are now officially outdated. - Smashing Magazine (March 11th, 2008)
- Not for anybody to use the artwork snippets they provide, but to get the idea. :D

Three weeks after I have completed this wallpaper I have stopped at a resource for some music I was looking for. In what was destined to be an amazing coincidence, a video that matched perfectly both my last artwork and Sabayon, as it is, for me:
Queens Of The Stone Age - Go With The Flow
(Kids, don't look! :D )

Darn! I like shiny glassy elements! And I don't like the neo-urban texturized elements. Ugh, but I don't want to seem . . . outdated!

(BTW that is not to say your wallpapers are not beautiful, they are. Just, as we say in Portuguese, taste is like a**holes, everyone has theirs :P

EDIT:translation more accurate.

Any hints/tips? (other than leave the design to people who are good at it :D )

Dark is good.... you had me there for a minute, then the motorcycle, the human figure and the palm trees drew my eyes away from the beauty and into the distracting and not so pretty parts of that background.
