3 Part question

Post by Linixnoobsince08 » Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:41

First off I have zero Linix experience, however, I have searched through google and these forums yet I am unable to reach a solution.

My pc setup is:

OS- Sabayon 3.4 64 Bit
Asus M2N32 Sli-Deluxe MB
AMD 64 4400 Duel Core
2 GB RAM
x2 WD hard drives
X2 Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT (SLi)
CreativeLabs Soundblaster Fatality Series sound card

First question is with Wine, I just installed 3.4 64 bit and I am not sure on how to install Wine. I plan on getting Cedega I believe it is on payday but until then I need a program so I can run WoW. So any help on how to install Wine or any other program that can run Windows based programs would be helpful.

Second question is my USB ports are not working. My number lock key on my keyboard is still on but keys, LCD screen and backlight are not working. The mouses charger isent even charging the battery pack as well. I am using a Logitech G7 mouse, and a Logitech G15 keyboard.

The final question is my sound card is not working as well but Im not as concerned about it at this moment since Im using my onboard audio.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice and sorry for the questions which you will probaly think to be silly.

Wine allready is installed.WoW should work under wine please see http://www.winehq.com

For the soundcard try this as root:

alsaconf
and after that
alsamixer

For the USB i don't know, post more info. (e.g. pull USB put it back in, right after this dmesg | tail )

Still no luck in Wine, thanks for the other answer though. About Wine, what commands do I actually put in console? Maybe Im just using the wrong ones or typing them wrong.

Thanks alot for the help on my issues, still no idea on why my USB ports arent working. I plan on updating my bios and seeing if that works. Seems thats some of the results I had in a general google.com search.
