WG111v2 USB Adapter

Post by Bladerun » Mon Dec 10, 2007 20:22

I'm trying to make this work. I've installed the Netgear '98 drivers using ndiswrapper, which Gentoo said would work, but it doesn't and I've search the net and don't know what else to do.

I would not bet anything on win98 drivers. Win xp pro sure.

Looks like the prism54 or rtl8187 is the chip in it and using either the win xp pro *.inf + ndiswrapper or linux rtl8187 / prism54 drivers should get it going.

These last 2 links could help you get it going.
Speed Chipset Manufacturer Card Driver H? K? A? Homepage Works
g RTL 8187 Netgear WG111 v2 ndiswrapper - - - YES, use Windows 98/ME windows driver
g RTL 8187 Netgear WG111 v2 rtl8187 - - - YES use rtl8187 ebuild from portage
Ebuild or emerge -s rtl8187
Might have to use a lan cable until this is installed.

Hope this helps.

PS> we should have a how-to in the wiki top right of this page as well about the rtl8187 as several wifi stuff uses it.
