Internet sharing problem.

Postby bitelz » Wed Nov 21, 2007 11:18

Hello everyone, it's my first post here.

My problem is that I want to make my computer working as router in my house lan, and i can't get it working.
I used "how to" from gentoo docs:
Didn't worked.
I used programs like: firestarter and KDE Internet sharing wizard, but the only thing thay can share is connection to the gadu-gadu (instant massager). Nothing else, no http.
I have two interfaces:
eth0 - my internet connection
eth1 - connection to lan
ifconfig looks fine.
If you need more information i will bring them over here, just write about it :).
Did someone get internet sharing working on sabayon ? write how to do it:)

did you shut down NetworkManager Daemon? Don't think it allows 2 connections up at once which you need for a routing setup.
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop
then add the 2 connection setups to your /etc/conf.d/net making sure the static ip doesn't conflict with the cable modem or any other part of your network.
