Wireless on dell m1210 (intel pro wireless 3945)

Postby thypeacefrog » Fri Nov 16, 2007 16:41

Hi, I'm new to sabayon and have only used ubuntu before. I downloaded the 3.4e liveDVD and installed and everything looked fine. The only problem is that my wireless card just isn't being detected. When I open Kwireless manager is simply says no devices present or active or something to that effect. Looking through these forums and google I just can't find anything that sounds like my problem. Can anyone help me out with this?

Responses are much appreciated thanks in advance.

Can not remeber what 3.4e story was but the search top right of this page or the wiki top right of this page should help a bit more for you.

Right clicking knetworkmanager top right of sceen next to time and select wifi network ussually works if the wifi card is recognized.

Try lspci or lsmod to see loaded modules and pci devices as sometimes "net-setup" as root wouldget it going as well not sure with 3.4E .

This link is the old school way and can be used but there is a easier way around here somewhere.

3.4mini should work as well as 3.4f and PE1.1 of SabayonLinux can not remebr the result off hand right at this moment.

Someone with correct info will post soon.
