Problem with start menu freeze

Post by emilun » Mon Oct 22, 2007 17:41

I am totally new to Sabayon and i've just burned my live-cd. Everything looks just fine until i press the menu button. Then the bar on the bottom get freezed and i cant press anything there. I've tried it on two different computers and i've got the same problem. It works just fine if i choose to don't have any desktop acceleration but when I choose to run in a different mode I this problem comes up.

One of the computers have:
AMD Semperon 2600+
Geforce 6600 GT 256 mb
1024 mb ram

Does anyone now a solution to this?

Its a known problem, there is a fix for it, trouble for you tho is that you'll have to run it every time you boot into live environment. The fix resolves the issue on installed Sabayon completely.

Fix is: layman -s sabayon && euse -E kickoff && emerge kicker desktop-acceleration-helpers (as root)
