Connecting USB Harddrive fails...

Hi everyone, i just tried to connect my USB Harddrive to my freshly installed Sabayon Linux... But it just throws up these dmesg messages:

Any idea how i can solve this?

Strange, SL seems to be having trouble reading a specific block/sector on the USB HDD. Maybe it's simply a bad block on the HDD? Does the USB HDD work OK with other PCs, or is this the first time you've used it? If there is nothing important on the USB HDD, you could try reformatting it (using GParted under SL, or by connecting it to e.g. a Windows PC). If you want to use it in future with Windows PCs as well as Linux PCs then you could re-format it as FAT32 or NTFS, but if you are only going to use it with Linux then you could format it as ext3.

Thanks for your help, but i'm not a newbie ;) Anyway, it worked perfectly under Ubuntu and maybe i will try to compile a new kernel now...
