Broadcom BCM4312 802.11a/b/g wireless not working on hp 6715

Postby southwisper » Sat Oct 06, 2007 21:25

My problem was that my HP Compaq 6715s couldn't find my wireless network card
I used this howTo http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php? ... yon_miniEd

Instead of
Code: Select all
# rmmod bmc43xx

I used
Code: Select all
# rmmod bcm43xx_mac80211
which was my existing Broadcom driver

found it:
Code: Select all
# lsmod

Then I followed the instructions all the way to where you are supposed to set the WEP key

Code: Select all
# ndiswrapper -da
is not a valid command, just ignore it

Now it found the wireless card, but to connect I had to jump over the steps concerning WEP key and SSID.

For newer versions of Sabayon I recommend this howTo: viewtopic.php?f=52&t=12542
It worked great for me with Sabayon x86 3.5 loop 2..

Cheers
