Compiz + nVidia + TwinView?

Postby mattfugitive » Tue Oct 02, 2007 9:41

Hey, first off all props to everyone working on Sabayon. I've tried like 10 different distros and this is definitely my fav since it was so easy to install WoW and other app's.. anyways to the point.

I'm running a Pentium 4 3.2 gig, 1 gig RAM, 500 Gig SATA, with on board sound and an nVidia 6200 256 mb AGP video card.

I tried setting acceleration manager to aiglx and it does nothing. I enabled it via CL and it creamed my TwinView and screwed royally with my display.

Question being, is it even possible for me to have Compiz working with aiglx and a TwinView setup or is it bugged out and I'm just waisting my time?
If I remember well, I did get Beryl to work with TwinView on Ubuntu 7.04 but I forgot how I did it.

Thanks

edit: Don't know if it helps but according to Sabayon my driver version is 100.14.11 and I notice there's an update on nVidia's site.. is it safe and will it help?

always use portage for your installs

Compiz + aiglx + twinview = all good -- I run it all the time on my system without problems

the gentoo wiki has information on setting this up
