Configure KDesktop: Screensaver settings: diagnostic libGL.s

Postby ronfog » Sat Sep 29, 2007 1:05

Hello All,

After updating from 86-64 3.4 to 86-64 3.4f I noticed that my screensaver is not working.

Checked Configure - KDesktop - Screen Saver and I get the following message:
The specified screensaver could not be found.

The diagnostics is:
libGL.so.1 cannot open shared object file: No such file...
Possible reasons:
- An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
- You have old third party modules lying around
Check these points carefully...try to remove the module mentioned...
If this fails consider contacting distributor or packager...

I was not able to find module libGL.so.1 but there was libGL.so (/etc/lib...)
I am not a Linux expert therefore your feedback is welcome in fixing this problem.

Thanks.

looks like you are missing the opengl useflag in your make.conf

add that flag then run 'equery hasuse opengl' and remerge any package that is missing it.
