Wired Network Problem with Intel Gigabit

Postby andreadb » Mon Sep 24, 2007 20:11

Hi all, I'm trying to install Sabayon 3.4f X86_64 on a HP m8190 desktop.

Everything seems to work but the network card, I can see it in lspci's output as:

00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 02)

but it doesn't appear in KNetworkManager and in net-setup, so I can't configure it.

What am I missing ?00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 02)

Ciao

Hi,

I solved the problem, so I leave the solution.

The problem is caused by the e1000 kernel module of the 3.4f, I downloaded the latest version from sourceforge, and compiled it. Now the Ethernet card is correctly recognized and started at boot.

Ciao
