nvidia-drivers-1.0.9631 - where did they go?

Postby jdv » Sat Sep 22, 2007 22:32

I noticed in another thread that these drivers were required for nvidia Geforce2 mx 400, which is my card, to run on 3.4e.

I am running 3.4f

Im having problems getting my nvidia geforxe2 mx400 card to be recognised by the acceleration manager, Ive tried -u x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers, I've tried the out of the box, Ive tried nvidia-drivers-1.0.9639, nvidia-drivers-1.0.7185 and the ones the forum say work dont exist anymore as a valid portage.

I also tried using emerge -c to remove all nvidia drivers, then install the legacy ones, and then eselect opengl set nvidia. This didn't work either, same problem with eselect opengl show saying 'nvidia' and acceleration manager not giving any option but no acceleration.

Any ideas please? I cant think of anything else to try.

Thanks for reply.. yes I had already layman -s

I did as you suggested and got the specific drivers (previously I had not added r92) but no change to my problem where accel-manager only gives "no desktop acceleration" option.

Thanks

jdv:

I don't know if you ever solved this problem, but I also have a nVidia Geforce2 MX 400 that I finally got working with desktop acceleration.

Let me know if you still need help.
