I was looking for Portage apps today (mainly GUI apps) and found one called portagemaster. The description says it's written in Java, and the Sourceforge page for it states:
portageMaster is Java GUI for Gentoo's packaging system Portage. It is GUI and nothing more, simply executes shell commands in background thread, so please: all questions and complaints regarding compiling different packages and related errors belong on Gentoo mailing lists.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this program and if so is it any good?

Portagemaster is very old. But it should work in a limited sense ... (e.g. it can't deal with overlays) ...
