Compiling a custon kernel specifically Sabayon flavored

Post by kodfish » Mon Sep 03, 2007 10:01

I've compiled my fair share of kernels, and i'm about to have a go at trying it again. I'm just wondering about how to do some of the neat stuff, like bootsplash and images in frambuffer. Also, i've never figured out quite how initrds work. Anyone able to give me some pointers to make my custom kernel all the more special? i've built countless gentoo systems before, but never done all the really nice eye candy. i'm familliar with vesafb and the likes though.
