I have this problem too on a fresh install of 3.4. When I installed, I configured wired ethernet with static IP, netmask, gateway but I decided to leave out the DNS. Now I can connect by going through the net-setup rigmarole but there seems to be no way to get the system to remember the DNS address. I have tried editing /etc/resolv.conf to no effect. It seems crazy there would be no way to do this without reinstalling.
