Yeah thanx but when I try to install Kiba-Dock the terminal gives me this:

Code: Select all

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies /
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "kiba-dock" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- gnome-extra/kiba-dock-9999 (masked by: missing keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

I have no idea how to unmask a package as I am new to Portage.

echo "gnome-extra/kiba-dock **" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords

emerge kiba-dock

it's really buggy unless they developed on it more since the last time I tried it.

Thanx, I got AWN working, but how do I do Kiba-Dock's signature effect (the icons flying everywhere aka the Physics engine). BTW the guide to get AWN is outdated since it used the old SVN repos. AWN's repos is now a Baazar repos and is on Launchpad.net rather than Google code:

The new Repos: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~awn-core/awn/trunk avant-window-navigator

I though everyone would wanna know, since the new AWN now has 3-D Leopard-like look configurable from the GUI. (Not that it is hard to do it with gconf).

Also bazaar is available in portage. It is called bzr.

Also the new version of AWN is now compatible with the Windows Preview Plugin of CF/Beryl (again!)!
