it's because the gtk flag is missing in /etc/make.conf

you need gtk for pidgin

Well, I have the exact same problem, after upgrading to 2.1.0 no more pidgin.
And I know pidgin needs gtk, but there already was a pidgin so there must've been a gtk.
Who can help us?

but you installed pidgin afterwards without the gtk flag where it was before. In the /etc/make.conf remove the -gtk if you have it and add gtk than reinstall pidgin

I have to remove it and then add it again (flag)?
reinstalling pidgin does make sense, but I don't actually know what to do with the make.conf .

Here is my make.conf:
Code: Select all

What exactly needs to be changed?
