Installation with Different Distros. (SOLVED)

Postby scorp3000 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 4:18

Other Distros. System Core 2 Duo Intel D975 XBX, 2 GB RAM , 3 SATAII non Raid. Running already 3 other distros . I just want to know if I can let Grub install itself in MBR sda1 and that will let run all other distros without further configuration of /boot/grub/menu.lst ( if that is what Sabayon has). Answer will be much appreciated.
P.S. Found out it does not pick up other distros. So, now the question is: does the installer allow me to install Grub to its own partition?

No need to reinstall grub if it's already there, and I don't always trust grub to find other distros and configure itself automatically. Just edit the file yourself.

OK, thanks. Could you tell me the syntaxis for Sabayon 3.3 to be added to Ubuntu's Grub? Since I will not install Sabayon Grub, I will never see how the entry is written. Sabayon will be installed to sdc2. Thanks a lot. ( is there a chance I can install Sabayon's Grub to it's own partition?)( That way I can see for myself how Sabayon configures itself)
