I will respect their wishes. I would assume it's OK to post to Gentoo forums??? I am registered there but don't recall ever posting. Have gotten some good info though.

I like SL and SL Forums! :D

I've just had the problem with blocking packages (boost/boost-build), while I was trying to install qbittorrent. I've just done that :
Code: Select all
emerge --unmerge boost

and then
Code: Select all
emerge boost

which wanted to emerge boost-build and boost (in this order). It worked (no blocking package this time).

P.S.: My emerge --sync has been done three hours from now.

That's a good one. I'm doing something else right now but I'll try that later. I'm kind of taking the path of pay a lot of attention to dispatch-conf but with world update if packages don't go thru don't worry so much. a few things I'm confident I know how to fix [Gentoo wiki] but others either wait for Gentoo devs to fix or if they don't care to fix something then why should I. And yeah I'll probably learn more ways to fix packages thru osmosis and checking SL and Gentoo forums and other docs.

You will discover that the world file is not adjusted with the installer selections

If one were to wish to do so, how to adjust world file? CLI way ? Can do with Kuroo maybe Portato but that be slow.
