try this...

Postby mebitek » Sat Jul 14, 2007 18:40

i have the same web cam on asus f3jr. installation works and driver too but some problems on my webcam like contrast.... try this installation method.

as root do this:

#mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/dev-util/ctags
#mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/media-video/stk11xx
#cd /usr/local/portage/media-video/stk11xx

download here the files
stk11xx-1.0.0-ctags.patch
and
stk11xx-1.0.0.ebuild (working ebuild)
from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178946 page

so
always as root do this
edit your /etc/make.conf adding this line:
PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage"
then
in the directory /usr/local/portage/media-video/stk11xx
create a directory called files
#mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/media-video/stk11xx/files
cp stk11xx-1.0.0-ctags.patch /usr/local/portage/media-video/stk11xx/files
#ebuild stk11xx-1.0.0.ebuild digest
#emerge -pv stk11xx

so try your webcam!!!
hope it helps

Code: Select all
#emerge stk11xx
#depmod
#modprobe stk11xx

and now the webcam works very well!!

Thank's! i would never been able to do this without your precious help!!

Hello everybody!
There is a simple way to install those drivers! i've found it in the italian forum!

just follow the instruction of this link!!
http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Hardware/Webcam/Syntec

than you can specify the options at the bottom of /etc/modprobe.conf
