Non riesce il login iniziale

scusate la domanda da perfetto niubbo.............
ho installato il dvd live non dallo stage 3 ma copiandolo direttamente nell'hd come da opzione
tutto perfetto, scheda di rete riconosciuta (a differenza di gentoo) grub installato correttamente......poi però il login mi viene fatto fare da shell

una volta che mi loggo poi cosa debbo fare?

lo stage3 non ha X.Org... e nemmeno KDE, GNOME, XFCE e compagnia bella :) devi installare tutto.

dovevo configurare la scheda video

un'altra cosa:
come mai il bootloader GRUB non mi riconosce la presenza di Windows?
debbo cambiare qualche impostazione?

Hai installato windows correttamente?
Hai già installato RR4 correttamente?
Se si, potresti copiarmi qui il contenuto di: /var/log/installer.log e /tmp/compile_output.log
A patto che tu abbia questi file.

Penso che ci sia qualcosa che non va a livello di rilevamento file.

Ottimo,
problema risolto. Basta che prima di avviare l'installazione, clicchi su "Update Installer".
Ho corretto il problema del mancato inserimento della partizione di Windows nel file di configurazione di GRUB.

ho reinstallato tutto ma il problema è sempre lo stesso
cosa faccio? installo lilo e lo uso come bootloader predefinito? (cosa peraltro che non so fare)

devon basta aggiungere 3 righe in /boot/grub/grub.conf

title=WinXp
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1


ovviamente qui ho messo hd0 se il tuo è hda mentre 0 se la partizione su cui è installato winzoz è la prima, se non è così cambia i numeri ricordandoti che grub funziona partendo dallo 0 e non dall'uno come in fstab[/b]
