No man they are cheap 8800gts is about $290 They used to be something like US $500+ .

US $290 is a motherboard + a cheap cpu only and then likely it is junk about 3 years old.

Well it is better than US $600 in South Africa for a Ipod mini the thing that clips onto a belt / colar.

My laptop 7800gtx still cost $300 if I am lucky and the same as a year ago.
7950 GTX2 for this laptop is US $550 2nd hand.

my 7600GT was like $120.00. I myself would never spend over $200.00 on a video card, just crazy and I can't believe the difference can be worth the price?

Not just that but do you really think that Linux has a driver that will work for it yet?

8800GTX for notebooks? Are u sure? I thought they always change the version name for notebooks?

I'm waiting to see what the r600 has to offer and how the 2 vendors battle it out. Will probably get a 8800GTS for my workstation anyway since it would b cheaper by the next 2 months. But i want GDDR4 and 1GiG VRAM..arghhh
