Some suggestions

Postby Jesterhead » Sat Dec 30, 2006 17:40

First i wanna thank you guys for creating this great Distribution ;)

But i have also some suggestions/questions.

1.
Could it be possible to integrate SuSE´s gfxboot patches into grub?
Maybe some Chickens running around the grub gfxxboot picture?^^

2.
Maybe after the installation or booting from the Live-DVD/CD a Document Autostarts with some first Steps to do? Common Problems, some Solutions, Hints, how to begin with a Linux-System?
This depends which audience you want for SL ;)

3.
Another Iconset than the normal plain old Crystal?
I know that everyone can make his own Look&Feel, but personal i oike it if a distribution tries to provide a complete "experience" ;)

4.
Dropping thos Big Demo-Games and providing some more free "pearls" like wesnoth, flightgear frets, sauerbraten, and so on.

Number 4 is a really great suggestion but I think the demos are there to show that Linux/GNU can play the latest games if the companies would just support it.
Also, I would love it if you included cannon smash on your next release. It's a fun table tennis game.

number 1 would be good or at least a background pic with sabayonlinux logo for example. because my lcd tv doesnt support 640x480 screen, just higher resolution. i read about that many lcd tv do so. so i cant see the options in grub and have to guess.

Sure, the big Games are great to show the Power, but for example Alienarena or Nexuiz,Cube and so on are smaller, so you have more space for some other nice free high quality Games.
Maybe some Racing Games (Racer,Turacer and so on), some Platformers (Supertux, SMC), some Strategie (BOS, GLest, Wesnoth), some Simulations (Lincity), and so on.

No. 2:
Troubleshooting 3D, Network, wireless, Dialup
Maybe Include a free Linux-Book? There are some out there.

Maybe some funny Superkaramba-Themes to show whats also Possible with Linux?
