Steam won't start (libgl 32bit libraries) [solved]

Post by krznv » Wed Sep 30, 2020 17:25

Hi, ever since a fresh system install, steam won't run. It's reporting missing
libgl.so.1
libegl.so.1
libgl.so.1
errors

I've googled the problem and it happens across many distributions, I tried many 'fixes' including libtest but nothing works.

I think you need media-libs/libglvnd package

Code: Select all

whereis libGL.so.1
libGL.so: /usr/lib/libGL.so /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib64/libGL.so /usr/lib64/libGL.so.1
Librearies are provided by :

Code: Select all

equo q belongs /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
╠ @@ Belong Search
╠ @@ Package: media-libs/libglvnd-1.3.2 branch: 5, [__system__]
╠ Installed: version: 1.3.2 ~ tag: NoTag ~ revision: 0

╠ Keyword: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
╠ Found: 1 entry
32 bit libraries are stored into /lib and /usr/lib directories.

No match found for libgl.so.1 and libegl.so.1
