Zoom meeting

Post by lcp » Sun Mar 29, 2020 15:08

Hi everyone,

I'm neewie user in Sabayon. I like he stability and fast response in my lenovo allinone.

I working with zoom meeting and when i try to connect to zoom meeting the chromium ask me about the zoom api to open xdg-open. Then I have to install the zoom api.

Is there a zoom meeting package to install in sabayon repositories? Or I have to install the .tar pacakage.

How do I do it?

Thank you very much

Lcp

zoom isn't available via entropy (which is Sabayon's default package manager), but it is available in a portage overlay. @Joost, maybe a package we should add?

As root, update entropy

Code: Select all

# emerge --sync
^^ that'll take a minute to complete.

Add the overlay

Code: Select all

# layman -a ssnb
Then

Code: Select all

# emerge net-im/zoom-bin
lastly, inform entropy of what you've done (this is highly recommended for keeping your system sane, but your package was already installed in the previous step)

Code: Select all

# equo rescue spmsync

I added a request to have zoom added to entropy which would make this process even easier: https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5905
