Hotel wifi prisoner [Solved]

Post by msdobrescu » Tue Dec 04, 2018 7:25

Hello,

I went abroad, stayed at hotels, used their wifi, then come back home, used my home wifi...
...until this time when some hotel wifi seems to have done something to my setup.
Now, despite I can't find proxy setup, it can't connect to my network back home at all.
Ping returns "System error".
How can I fix it?

Thank you!

Amazing! Don't know what the hotel proxy did to my system, or how it managed the connection.
It seems that /etc/resolv.conf became inaccessible to whatever configured it back, at home.
It was empty. I have removed it (as root), restarted, and was created again, so it added a nameserver and workgroup that made it see the routes again!
Weird!
