Emergeing is fun...

Yes this is off topic, hence is in the off topic forum. While I was emerging a package I got this, I swear I laughed so hard I nearly had to change my clothes...

Code: Select all
localhost ~ # emerge -v xglswitch
Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "xglswitch" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-misc/xglswitch-1.1 (masked by: package.mask)
# This package is old and will screw up your system, it was a proof of concept

- x11-misc/xglswitch-1.0 (masked by: package.mask)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

The funny part is in the bold. That is just great. You linux guys and girls really know how to have a good time.

You think that is funny

type emerge moo

and type cd /usr/src/linux (making source you have kernel source)
and then type egrep -ir "( fuck)|( shit)" *
or egrep -ir "(on fire)" *

and laugh your head off.

Thats awesome. Who hides code inside of code? Linux coders, and not only that, they make you die of laughter. Now what I am surprised to see, is that no one made fun of Microsoft or Bill Gates for that fact of the matter.

I found this in the source-code from emerge:
Code: Select all
class stdout_spinner(object):
   scroll_msgs = [
      "Gentoo Rocks ("+os.uname()[0]+")",
      "Thank you for using Gentoo. :)",
      "Are you actually trying to read this?",
      "How many times have you stared at this?",
      "We are generating the cache right now",
      "You are paying too much attention.",
      "A theory is better than its explanation.",
      "Phasers locked on target, Captain.",
      "Thrashing is just virtual crashing.",
      "To be is to program.",
      "Real Users hate Real Programmers.",
      "When all else fails, read the instructions.",
      "Functionality breeds Contempt.",
      "The future lies ahead.",
      "3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971694",
      "Sometimes insanity is the only alternative.",
      "Inaccuracy saves a world of explanation.",
