I don't want this kernel?
I don't understand why entropy install this kernel.

This looks similar to the VirtualBox install problem. All depends on your own Kernel version. So then, try to install the modules first in a root console with (watch the #$(uname -r)):
Code: Select all
[email protected]:equo i vmware-modules#$(uname -r) --ask
╠  @@ Berechne Abhängigkeiten...
╠  @@ Dies sind die Pakete die installiert werden würden:

Then install vmware-workstation itself. On my console, no Kernel 3.9.11 was mentioned nor needed, when I used --ask.
Code: Select all
[email protected]:equo i vmware-workstation --ask

I really hope, that by the Brexit (poor Britain), TTIP will be finally prevented. But don't get tired to talk to your local politician to open eyes for danger to democracy because of TTIP

Yours solution works, but it is a workaround.
Bug exist and it must be fixed.

VirtualBox don't show in dash.
VirtualBox don't have an executable in /usr/bin.
To many bugs and problems unsolved.

VirtualBox will be installed in /opt/VirtualBox directory. To install VirtualBox with its matching modules to your kernel, open a root console and type:
Code: Select all
equo i virtualbox-modules#$(uname -r)
equo i virtualbox-bin

You must be member of the group 'vboxusers' (You can't run it as root). To achieve that, type in that same root console:
Code: Select all
usermod -a -G vboxusers <your_user_name>

Another topic is that the modules must be loaded before you can use VirtualBox. For that, you can load at boot time by the following. Create a file with name 'VirtualBox.conf' in directory /etc/modules-load.d. It must have ext 'conf' and look like this:
Code: Select all
# Modules for VirtualBox, loaded by Systemd
# Date: 15/07/2013
vboxdrv
vboxnetadp
vboxnetflt

Then, after a reboot, the modules will be loaded automatically, and you as user will find the VirtualBox icon also in the menu.

I would suggest you to read the postinstall messages and the wiki, that will solve most of your "problems" if not all.

With this attitude you are definitely in the wrong place and should switch to an OS with commercial support!
