WINGS 3D [Solved]

Postby Homer123 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 0:23

Has anyone successfully installed WINGS 3D on Sabayon 64b. The version in Rigo is way out of date and crashes on start.
The pre-installed version from WINGS website is Linux (64b Ubuntu 13.04) and that doesn't work. Erlang is out of date too in Rigo.

I have tried to install from source and successfully compiled latest Erlang and WINGS 3D but that crashes on start too. The windows version works perfectly :(. I would so love to get this working here

I succeeded to get this program running. For anyone that is interested...
I gave up on trying to compile and tried again to use the pre-compiled version from WINGS 3D
I ran run script with the keep option as su
Code: Select all
# wings-1.5.2-linux.bzip2.run --keep

this put the decompressed files into /root/wings-1.5.2 (it should be possible for it to go somewhere else but it works so I ain't going to worry too much)
then I had to install libcaca.so from rigo
and finally
Code: Select all
# cd /lib
# ln -s libncurses.so.5.9 libtinfo.so.5

to allow the libtinfo library to be found
and then it worked
