Plasma Active

Post by jeyton » Tue Mar 04, 2014 23:43

Hi all,
I have a surface pro with Sabayon 14.01 installed with KDE. So far I have been unable to determine a good way to install the plasma-active DE to fully utilize this as a tablet still. Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction on this, so far google comes up with primarily outdated information. If we could get this working and create a write-up that would be amazing.

Sabayon doesn't support plasma active.

It looks like there are some portage overlays that are toying around with it, but mixing something at large as a DE from portage with entropy packages is definitely not recommended. At that point, you might as well go portage all the way.

I see some stuff in the kde portage overlay:

But I can't give you much guidance, since I don't see how exactly it is supposed to work.

And what about removing whole KDE from equo and re-emerging it via the KDE-layer along with the KDE-activity packages?

It won't cause any collision in your system, I guess.
