IntelGMAHD on chip card sabayon 14.01 dual boot win8.1

Postby lestoilnr69 » Thu Feb 27, 2014 20:45

Using dual-boot Win 8.1/Sabayon on Gateway DX4831-01e with icore3 dual/quad core cpu with integrated intelHD graphic.
Just want to know if anything is wrong with my setup. Videos are working fine.
'lspci' shows: Vga compat. Intel cpu integrated GMAHD(driver i915 used)
'lsmod' shows i915 :(
However, 'eselect opengl list' shows nvidia, ati and xorg-X11
'equo search intel-driver' shows installed intel driver is X11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.0.20-r1 branch 5
Have been away from Sabayon for a few years and had to use this pc for Linux and Win 8.1 after my original Linux pc died. The Gateway pc doesn't have uefi thankfully. Had Ubuntu but it was too unstable and caused? Win 8 to change its partition table. I'm here after re-installing Win 8/8.1.

Nothing wrong with any of that. At all.

SL does that (i.e. shows all three, even if you don't have all three types of GPU). Nothing to worry about. You omitted to mention the asterisk, which must be against xorg-x11 given that you're using the Intel driver (i915 module). The package x11-libs/libva-intel-driver provides HW video decode support for Intel integrated graphics (Video Acceleration API, or VA-API for short).

Welcome back to SL, by the way.
