Steam: OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering

Postby mahalay » Fri Oct 18, 2013 21:19

Hello Everyone,

When I first installed Steam, everything was working great. But about 3 weeks ago, I'm no longer able to play my games. Upon start of Steam, I get the following error: "OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering".

Sabayon Flavor: XFCE 64 bit

My steam launcher have this: "optirun /usr/bin/steam %U".

Any hints on how I may fix it?

TIA

Probably some clues:

Snippets from logs:
Code: Select all
Xlib:  extension "NV-GLX" missing on display ":0.0"
...
ExecCommandLine: "/home/foo/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam"

Output of "ldd ~/.steam/root/ubuntu12_32/steam" (because according to steam forums, it simply needs to use 32bit libs) :
