Sabayon switches TTY before I can login

Postby ierpe » Thu Oct 17, 2013 8:35

Hey,

I've been happilly using Sabayon for a couple of months now, it's great!

I'm using Gnome and for the last couple of weeks, I've had this weird problem on startup.

Sabayon starts normally, reaches the Logon screen, but then at this point, it switches to another TTY, finishes loading some stuff and stays there.

Then I need to hit ctrl+alt+f7 in order to come back to the TTY with the logon screen, then I can login normally.

It's not a major problem but is a little annoying....
Any idea how to fix this?

Such behaviour usually means an error is occurring during start-up, which is why the display switches to TTY1 where the boot messages are displayed, to show the user an error message and/or the place at which the problem occurs during start-up. Check your error logs for error messages. If you can find and fix the specific error that is occurring in your case, your installation should stop switching to TTY1.
