Xorg - keep shift pressed on keyboard layout switches

Postby Winnerer » Thu Oct 10, 2013 14:26

I have a problem is Sabayon.
The matter is sabayon does not keep Shift key pressed after keyboard layout switches using Alt+Shift. So, in Ubuntu I used Alt+Shift, then I released Alt and still pressing Shift started to type uppercase letters. In sabayon letters are lower case, I have to release and press Shift key again.
I searched that ubuntu uses some patches to perfom such functions

+ * Add 208_switch_on_release.diff: Perform keyboard layout switches on
+ key-release rather than key-press events. This solves a very
+ long-standing issue where e.g. <ctrl>+<shift>+<key> fails when
+ ctrl+shift is configured for layout switching.
+ (LP: #36812)

+ + 208_switch_on_release.diff:
+ Switch keyboard layouts on key-release rather than key-press

So how can I make shift stay pressed after I switched layout?
