Remove nVidia packages on ATI system - ok? [Solved]

Post by ratcheer » Sun Aug 26, 2012 15:44

I don't see why removing all the nVidia packages from my system, which uses an ATI video card, would cause any problems, but I thought I should ask first. Today, when performing the weekly Sabayon upgrade, hundreds of MB of the downloads were for nVidia related packages. I don't have a very fast internet connection (only 3 mbps), so it would save me a lot of time if I didn't have to download all of this. Is it safe to remove these packages?

My system is fully upgraded Sabayon 9 x86_64 Gnome3 spin.
