Keyring not working in XFCE

Post by cris.danci » Fri Aug 10, 2012 10:14

Hi Guys,

I installed Sabayon 9 with XFCE a few weeks ago and everything seemed to work perfectly, until I tried to configure gnome-do to use twitter. To cut a long story short, it depends on gnome-keyring to store login details and for some reason gnome-keyring just isn't behaving.

I've installed seahorse, but can't even create a default key, seahorse just hangs. I've search the messages files and come up with the following when I try to create a default keyring:

localhost gnome-keyring-daemon[XXX]: no data returned from the prompt
localhost gnome-keyring-daemon[XXX]: couldn't set environment variable in session: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service filesappe

I've tried some googling, but it appears but both messages can appear for a number of reasons and a number of bugs...

HELPS!?

Regards,
Cris

Ok so I tried installing gnome and creating the keys in gnome... no good. But the error has now changed. I now get:

Aug 11 00:04:20 localhost kernel: [ 132.738464] gnome-keyring-p[9970] general protection ip:b767567f sp:bfebea40 error:0 in libgcrypt.so.11.7.0[b764b000+76000]
Aug 11 00:04:20 localhost gnome-keyring-daemon[9439]: no data returned from the prompt

Hi,
I'm don't know much about the gnome-keyrings but maybe this site helps you (mentions something about using gnome keyrings in xfce):https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME_Keyring

cheers
