How to switch graphics driver ?

Postby jolato » Sat Jul 28, 2012 17:17

I just installed nvidia drivers. Is there a way to switch back to default mode ?

I think I have nvidia driver enabled at first sight from the output of this command:
eselect opengl list:
Available OpenGL implementations:
[1] ati
[2] nvidia * a
[3] xorg-x11

Hi,
the default drivers in Sabayon are the binary drivers from nvida and ati. So you just upgraded your driver. In case you want to change to the open source driver, I don't know how to do this properly, but I remember it mentioned somewhere here in the forum.

cheers

Ok, thanks. If I boot the live DVD or install Sabayon from there, I don't/didn't have the problem (desktop effect not working). Just from upgrading the same driver (nvidia) ?

I think I will give up here. I can only conclude that nvidia drivers are "not ready"
