Desktop Icons

Post by Retriever » Wed Jul 25, 2012 11:08

So I installed the recommended updates the other day and all of my desktop icons disappeared. I had no idea how to get them back. No menu either. Just a blue desktop saying "Sabayon". I had to install Mint so I could get in touch with the forum, and hopefully get some tips. I really want to go back to Sabayon as it is my favorite distro. Is there a way to get the desktop icons to reappear if they are not present?

Thanks-

Hi, did you read the Sabayon repositories notice board about missing icons?
You can read it both on sulfur or rigo, or by using:

Code: Select all

equo notice sabayonlinux.org
or:

Code: Select all

equo notice sabayon-weekly
depending on which repositories you are using.

instead of reinstalling another operating system, all ya need to do is boot the live dvd/usb to get a desktop

Thanks for the replies. No, I didn't see the notice about disappearing icons, guess I should have read it. It just confused me, which isn't difficult to do.

Thanks again.
